Mariah's small stage debut

Mariah joined the drama club at Truman Elementary this year and they got to perform their 1st play tonight. She was one of the chorus monkeys. The play is called "Jungle Rock". It was really cute and a great way to help kids feel comfortable on stage. She seemed to have a really good time.

Asia's Sing

After the "green" breakfast, Grandma Jones, Chelsea and Hannah came up to hang out. We went to the Mini School to see Asia do her little sing. It was so fun! After the sing, we ran some errands and just hung out. I LOVE it when they come to visit. It breaks up the monotany of my regular week!! Thanks girls!

green eggs and ham part 2

Brinlee had a Dr. Suess breakfast at school today and the parents were invited to participate. It was really fun! Will ended up getting called in to work, so I took Roxelle with me and Tatum went to my neighbor, Wendy's, house. (Thanks again, Wendy! =D)
This group goes all around to area schools and brings a green eggs and ham breakfast and gives the kids a Dr. Suess book and hat to bring home. It was really cute.

She was a little embarrased to wear the hat

love the green eggs!

I love my new....

Pampered Chef Micro Scraper. This thing is AWESOME! I hate it when there is still product left in the bottom of any container and I can't get to it, no matter how hard I pound it on the counter upside down, or leave it propped upside down. I will sheepishly admit that I keep that hokey "forever sharp" knife around so that I can cut my plastic hand lotion or sunblock containers open when I can't get the last of it out. You seriously wouldn't believe how much is actually left in there when you cut it open. I can use most things for a few more days after cutting it open. And I cut the toothpaste tubes in half when I can't squeeze the last of the paste out. I have a waste not, want not theory!LOL

Anyway...a couple of days ago, I was making some kind of goodies that required Karo syrup and I needed 1 cup. I was just a snitch shy of making 1 full cup and so I whipped out my handy new tool and scraped the rest out. I had more than enough to finish off the cup!! I've also used it to finish out a ketchup bottle and ranch dressing too!!!!! I love this little thing. Funny how such a small thing makes me so happy! =D

green eggs and ham part 1

Yesterday, our back door "neighbor" (it's complicated...I'll explain it later) came over and gave us 18 free range chicken eggs!!!! I was so stoked and SO thankful! There was even a green one in there and the girls were all "WE want green eggs and ham!" LOL

I also took some funny pics of little Roxelle sporting some stylin shades!

facebook

I don't know why I do this to myself. It's bad enough that I am addicted to the internet alone without being shamelessly addicted to facebook, too! If you're on there, hook me up! www.facebook.com

Nice Day

It was a gorgeous day in the Pacific NW! We couldn't resist a little outside time for everyone. Roxelle hardly ever gets to go out sans carseat or stroller. She was soaking it all in.

Crazy Cousins

Yesterday was Grandma E's birthday. She had spent the weekend down here because Mike and Monica went to their stake Valentine's Dance on Fri and ours was Sat, so she spent the night with us on Sat. night and went to church with us on Sunday. Ellene and Bryan came to our ward as well and then we had her bday dinner at our house after. It was really fun! The girls convinced us to let them do a sleepover since tomorrow is President's Day. They were so EXCITED! They were really good and had a lot of fun!

Roxelle

Roxelle has started trying to hold her own bottle yesterday and she was doing this funny thing with her tongue and lip. She kept doing it over and over intermitently for like 45 minutes! We were cracking up!

Treatment for Roxelle

Poor little Roxelle has had a bad cold and not been feeling well. She sounds how Tatum gets when she's eaten something with dairy in it. So we've been giving her treatments from Tatum's nebulizer. It seems to help a lot. We took her to the dr a couple days ago because I thought she had RSV, but thankfully it's just a bad cold, and probably due to the fact that I have a hard time staying away from dairy. (booo!) I do really well not eating any dairy for a week or two and then I break down and eat something and this is the result. GRRRR! allergies.....

first he tried the "blow by", then the mask

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at school for Spirit Friday. Every Friday at Truman is Truman Pride day. Anyway, Brinlee asked me if I could do little ponytails all over her hair and, of course, Mariah wanted nothing to do with it. I told her to stop being a spoil sport and gave her a half pony/half braid do, which she cried the entire time and then would NOT let me take a picture.

pre-birthday project

The headboard that I got from craigslist.

Before and After sanding

Extreme Bedroom Makeover

Today for Mariah's 9th Birthday, we made over her room. Right after she left for school, we took everything out of the room and then Will painted 2 of the walls light pink. I had found the headboard on craigslist a week ago for $5. It's a vintage, retro-looking, solid wood piece in need of some major TLC. I sanded it down and then primed and painted it black. I've been working on it all week and I love how it turned out!
So I got all the bedding and curtains ready, made the mini heart cakes and ran some errands while Will painted. Luckily, she had Drama Club after school so that gave me a couple extra hours to get it all done, including wrapping her bedroom door in wrapping paper. Anyway, I took some before and afters and did some video. She really liked it.

Out with the old....

Her double door entry

The closet

the hamper and stuffed animals...
My Grandma Woolsey made that quilt when I was a little girl.....not too cute, but she loves it! (Those are ballerina's, in case you couldn't tell =D)

The outside of her bedroom.

In with the NEW!!!

Painted these 2 walls light pink (hard to tell in the pics)

That's the headboard I refinished...nice, eh?!

The much wanted Hello Kitty blanket.
More views of the finished room in the video clip!

my new friend

I am not biased at all. We have the best realtor in the world! If you trust me, you will take my word for it. She is truly amazing! She is licensed in both OR and WA and she really, really does want what's in your best interest. She is honest, hard working, and will not stop working until you have exactly what you are looking for. The best part is that she is also a builder. She has a keen eye for certain things that you wouldn't normally look for.

Click on her card over there and it will take you to her website at Legacy Realty Group.

Not only will she be the only realtor we will ever use, but I have also found a new friend. Thanks for everything, Julie!

Roxelle

Poor girl...It's finally happened to me. I swore that I would never fall into that stereotype of "the more kids you get the less pictures you take". I've been really good up till now. I've taken them each to get blessing dress pics around 6 weeks old, then 3 mos old, 6 mos old then 12 mos, then each year until age 5. UGH! She hadn't had one single professional picture done and she's over 4 months old already! I feel really bad. I know what you all are thinking and I can't help it. I don't want my girls to think that I "cared" less about them because they were #5 or whatever in a long line of other kids.

Anyway, here's her first pics. I combined the "blessing dress" and the "3 mos old" sittings. She was SO FUSSY! She is normally such a good baby that I was surprised at how unhappy she was, but Kiddie Kandids always comes through. They did a great job!

Mary Lou came down and spent the day to watch Tatum and Asia while I went. The girls were, of course, ecstatic to come home and find Grandma here. Thanks for helping me out Mom!
