pleased as peas..and carrots...and beans

I have always wanted to make my own baby food, but never "had the time" (funny enough). Now that I'm on number 5, I am just going to make it happen. Baby food is just not in the grocery budget. Plus, when we moved back here and got all our stuff out of storage, I had this neat-o food processor that is brand new and never been used (I actually think it was a wedding gift to us). It is so easy to use and clean. I love it! I am going to try and figure out how much a bag of frozen veg makes to see how much money I can save by making it myself and freezing it.

Last week I did green beans with apples (I tried to do one apple to put in her rice cereal, but the processor won't do just one apple and I had left over green beans from dinner that Chelsea and I had frozen from our garden this past summer, so I added those in with the apple and then decided to add one more apple to make it even). Below it's in the clear container with the orange lid.

Fresh frozen peas (covered with foil, ready to freeze), fresh frozen peas and carrots (uncovered) and then fresh frozen carrots in the processor.

Good for you! I did this with Blake. Put it into ice cube trays and then freeze them is even easier.

I tried to make my own baby food with MF but she wouldn't eat it! I was so sad that I had this nifty food processor and nothing to process. I'm hoping this baby will like it better when the time comes.

We're planning on making our own baby food...
Mike likes to collect cookbooks, so we've added 3-4 baby food books to the collection.
